Nuclear Science Kits
Description
With decades of experience building and innovating radiation detectors, Mirion has now devised two sets of experimental equipment to facilitate the teaching of nuclear science both high-school and university level. The kits not only include the equipment needed to perform nuclear science experiments, but also come with a laboratory manual with 12 key experiments to aid the teaching of this vast subject.
About the 12 experiments
The set of 12 experiments, focusses on the key aspects of gamma-ray detection and analysis. The Basic kit includes the instrumentation needed* to perform 5 experiments which cover topics such as the absorption of gamma-rays in matter, half-life, Compton scattering.
Demonstrate the magic of high-resolution spectra by purchasing the Advanced kit containing a high-purity germanium (HPGe) detector and Lynx II digital electronics. The advanced set of experiments will teach students about
Digital signal processing
Gamma ray coincidence counting techniques
Positron annihilation
By purchasing both Basic and Advanced kits students will be able to perform the full set of 12 experiments and master the key concepts of gamma spectrometry. students will be able to perform
LISt of the experiments
